LGBTQ+ Justice

MUUSJN works to foster the worth and dignity of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer and people of other sexual orientations and gender identities (LGBTQ+) by

  • Working with UU congregations in Michigan to renew their Welcoming Congregation status.
  • Teamed with Inclusive Justice organization to host a “Pursuing Inclusive Justice” Conference
  • Conduct webinar series exploring LGBTQ+ spirituality & justice advocacy, genders of God, punk theology, and disability justice
  • Working with UU congregations as well as LGBTQ+ centers and programs throughout the state, endeavoring to help guarantee the rights of LGBTQ+ persons to participate in the elections process, including registering to vote and completing their voting process.
  • Planning Zoom educational events to help congregations and others know more about important state and federal legislation developments in areas such as LGBTQ+ and voters’ rights.
  • Meeting with state and federal legislators to inform their about the legislative needs of their LGBTQ+ constituents.
