In our continuing fight for a minimum wage increase, collected thousands of signatures for the Raise the Wage ballot proposal, which will appear on the 2024 ballot.
As part of the MI Time To Care Coalition, brought a lawsuit against the State of Michigan demanding that the law requiring paid leave be put into effect. This case is ongoing.
In coalition with Michigan Liberation, we are working to end the cash bail system.
Mentored seven Economic Justice Alliance of Michigan (EJAM) Fellows.

As a partner with the Economic Justice Alliance of Michigan (EJAM), MUUSJN advocated for a raise in the minimum wage. A grant proposal was submitted to the United Way of Southeast Michigan, to help sustain this effort in 2022;
MUUSJN provided ongoing action alerts about the Build Back Better Act that, if adopted, would provide transformational assistance to families, e.g., child care, paid leave, support for elder care and green jobs.
MUUSJN supervised three EJAM Fellows, providing job experience that can help them with future employment.
MUUSJN has been a key partner in the My Time To Care and the Michigan Paid Leave coalitions. We have been fighting against the “adopt and amend” process that allowed the 2018 legislature to adopt a paid leave initiative and then gut it. We have planned rallies, demonstrations and appeals to Michigan’s Attorney General.
